Job description:
The Beach Attendant is the first person most guests will come into contact with. The Beach Attendant is responsible to answer any questions, direct guests to the appropriate parking areas and public restrooms / showers, and may handle money transactions. Beach Attendants report any complaints, restocking of cash drawer, or other problems to the Beach Supervisor or Lifeguard Chief. Assures that all guests of the Seaside Heights Beach have a positive experience. Pleasantly greet guests who come to the facility and efficiently service their needs; assure that all guests are wearing a season beach badge, weekly beach wristband, or daily beach wristband; answer any questions; knowledge of all rules, regulations and fees of the beach operation; follow proper opening and closing procedures as assigned; report equipment problems or other pertinent information to the Beach Supervisor. Position requires employees to work outdoors in warm and humid conditions.
Participants will be responsible for all duties: Keeps public restroom facilities in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition; cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls; cleans mirrors and sinks; replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap; notes condition of restrooms and reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, and other conditions requiring maintenance; unclogs toilets; sweeps and mops restroom floors; and keeps a stock of cleaning materials/equipment needed to do the work. Loads, lifts, and moves supplies, and equipment; collects rubbish and other refuse; cuts grass; trims hedges; waters lawns, flowers, and vegetable beds; loads and unloads trucks; shovels gravel and sand; cleans up underbrush, foliage, vines, weeds, and seaweed; destroys vines, weeds and undergrowth; may perform the routine work involved in painting of interior and exterior walls and ceilings; sweeps sidewalks and Boardwalk. Collect trash from trash cans on the Boardwalk and beach throughout the town and also using hand-held trash grabbers. Cleans offices, storerooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas; sweeps, dry mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, and lightweight vacuum cleaners; dusts furniture; empties wastebaskets; washes windows and blinds; keeps restrooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition; cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls; cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains; replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap; notes condition of restrooms and reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, and other conditions requiring maintenance; unclogs toilets; sweeps and mops restroom floors; and keeps a stock of cleaning materials/equipment needed to do the work. * May lift and carry items weighing 20-50 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in warm, humid conditions and use cleaning chemicals.
