As a cashier, participants will be responsible for taking payment for items customers wish to purchase or for receiving payment for admission. This position requires a strong understanding of U.S. currency, and the ability to work a computer based system and/or a credit card machine. Participants must be patient, optimistic and cheerful to perform this job successfully and must have excellent English and customer service skills.
Breakfast attendants have many duties to perform during a shift. Main duties include setting up and breaking down each morning’s breakfast buffet, ensuring buffet items such fruits, breads, cereals and bakery items remain well-stocked, maintaining the safety and appearance of the buffet area and cleaning the area in preparation for the next day. This may include replenishing silverware, sugar caddies and condiments, light to moderate food preparation, refilling beverage containers, mopping, wiping and sweeping. If the hotel breakfast is full service, the attendant may perform duties similar to those of a restaurant waiter or busboy such as attending to special food orders or needs of the guests, clearing dirty plates from tables, relaying customer needs to the kitchen and providing or refilling drinks. Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals, and must not be allergic to any cleaning chemicals. Must be able to arrive to work in the early mornings, arrive in uniform, work in a high paced environment, be friendly, and work hard. Breakfast attendants need to be fluent in English and should have an outgoing, friendly personalities. Breakfast attendant may also do food preparation work. Short for food preparation, food prep cooks/workers assist chefs and other kitchen staff by preparing the ingredients used to create all dishes – entrees, sauces and side dishes. A prep cooks chops vegetables, herbs and other ingredients, trims and slices meats and stirs sauces and soups. They also portion and wrap food, assemble plates (such as salads) and clean utensils and kitchen surfaces. Additionally, they store foods in designated containers and storage areas. Participants will be standing for long periods of time in this job position. Participants should not accept this job offer if they are unable to do all that is listed above.
The front desk clerk or assistant is responsible for greeting and monitoring visitors and for providing assistance to customers. Job duties include checking in and out guests, helping customers with questions, answering the phones and performing front desk related administrative tasks. Front desk employees must have excellent English, a clean and impeccable appearance and exceptional customer service skills. Must be able to handle a fast paced environment, work will little supervision, be able to work by yourself. Must be able to show up for work on time, in work uniform, and be ready to work. Cell phones and electronic devises are not allowed at work with you. Participants may also be required to conduct restaurant cashier duties. A busser serves patrons by setting tables; placing and replacing silverware; keeping beverage glasses full; keeping coffee (Hot item) glasses full; adhering to sanitation and safety policies; clearing and cleaning tables, chairs, and environment. Prepares dining room for patrons by cleaning and clothing tables; setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils. Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies. Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean; replacing damaged or soiled pages; cleaning chalkboards; lettering specials on chalkboards. Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; refilling coffee (hot item), and juice; being alert to patron spills or other special needs. Supports wait staff by setting-up and replenishing condiment stands, trash containers liners, and bus stations. Closes dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables; sweeping and/or vacuuming floors; removing trash and recyclables from the facility. Must be able to get up early for this position, be on time, and ready for work. As a Busser, you will have property common areas rotations at the hotel to insure you get your 32-40 hrs per week. You will be responsible for cleaning corridors, hotel Lobbies, stairways, emptying garbage cans, elevators, lounges, sweeping outside, keeping outside dumpster area’s clean, clean vending areas, cleaning public restrooms, dusting, keeping outside areas clean, cleaning doors, other cleaning tasks may be given. * While not guaranteed, it is possible that bussers will receive tips from the waitstaff as a thank you for helping the waitstaff and for clearing tables.
