Job description:
Lifeguard – Participants selected to work as lifeguards are expected to maintain a high level of vigilance throughout the summer. Lifeguards shall remain professional at all times while engaging guests in a friendly manner. In addition to scanning pools, Lost Island lifeguards also dispatch guests from the tops of slides. Other duties include cleaning the pools and deck, washing deck chairs, waxing water slides, replacing netting and rope, and general clean-up of the park as necessary. Required Training – Lost Island requires all lifeguards to be licensed through Ellis & Associates. Classes are available on site on May 21 , and successful completion of the course is mandatory for employment. Employer will pay for the certification process. Participants will be liable for these costs ($85.00) if they do not successfully complete the training or if they leave their positions prematurely. Requirements for the Certification: – 200m swim with a forward stroke – Retrieval of a 4.5kg brick from depth of 4m – 2 minute tread without hands – 80% on multiple choice exam – Demonstrate competence in a wide variety of virtual scenarios ** Must always remain flexible with job responsibilities in order to receive more hours.
