Job description:
As a Server, participants will be taking customers’ orders, serving food and beverages, preparing itemized checks, and sometimes accepting payment. Servers may perform additional duties, which may include escorting guests to tables, serving customers seated at counters, setting up and clearing tables, and operating a computer based system for making orders and processing payment. Servers must be professional, polite, and reliable. They must speak excellent English and must be able to learn and describe food proficiently. Servers also need to be familiar with the menu, with how the food is prepared, what it tastes like and if special requests are allowed. The service charge is a % of the bill that guests pay to eat at the country club. The servers will keep the amount equaling 13% of the bill. Gratuities of additional tips may also be received. Participants may be asked to work as Banquet Server on occasion. This work involves setting up banquet facility tables, carrying meals to tables and cleaning up once the event has ended. Participants may be asked to move tables, set them with linen, dishware and flatware. Duties may also include filling water glasses, carrying food trays from the kitchen to the tables and ensuring that guests are served efficiently. Participants are expected to work quickly. Once an event has ended, a banquet server will clear dishes and flatware and carry it to the kitchen along with ensuring that all decorations are pulled down and the premises are cleaned. There is a flat pay rate for working banquets: $12.00 for lunch and $18.00 for dinner. See grooming standard at the end of the Placement Agreement.
