Job description:
Restaurant staff will be hired in the capacity of any of the following positions. Participants must be flexible. Server – Participants will be taking customers’ orders, serving food and beverages, preparing itemized checks, and sometimes accepting payment. They must speak excellent English to be able to understand and converse with the customers and they must be able to learn and describe food proficiently. Servers also need to be familiar with the menu, with how the food is prepared, what it tastes like and if special requests are allowed. They need to be informed about specials and special events. ** Wage is $5.03 + tips Busser – Job duties include clearing tables, taking dirty dishes to the dishwasher, setting empty tables and otherwise assisting the waiting staff. Responsibilities may also include bringing water and introductory foods to the table when guests first sit down. Bussers may also be required to taking out the trash and clean restrooms. ** Wage is $8.05 + tips Hostess – Participants will be greeting guests arriving at the restaurant, welcoming and seating them. The responsibilities of the host include monitoring the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables, estimating wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. The host is often responsible for answering the telephone, booking reservations and moving tables together to accommodate large parties. ** Wage is $12.00 Beach Opener – Participants will be working outdoors to set up / break down beach chairs and cabanas, wipe down tables, set up beach hut and make sure that surrounding area is clean. May also be asked to set up volleyball court and kids area. Beach Hut responsibilities include setting up area, checking on menus, cutlery and condiments. Welcoming guests and explaining the outdoor resources. ** Wage is $12.00
